Eastern Gray Treefrog
Hyla versicolor
40.8327, -75.886
Field Notes
Description:
Eastern Gray Treefrog, not a very good picture, the frog was in a difficult position. This specimen was found in a crack in the pear tree in our backyard. It was strange to see him/her there because our backyard isn't exactly forested and it isn't close to any fresh water source. He may have been hiding out in the tree until night or when conditions were good enough to allow safe travel.
Habitat:
Deciduous woodlands near ponds, pools or ditches. Mating Season: Lower vegetation of old fields, meadows, ecotonal habitats. (taken from PA HERPS website)
