Field Notes

Description:

Brown scales with thin beige banding; ca. 3" long without tail, tail about 3" again. Looked like a creamy underbelly, thin yellow eye rim? Notoriously difficult to capture on film, obviously.

Habitat:

@Miami Beach Botanical Garden; mulch underlay, plenty of shade and cool earth below.

Notes:

This one wasn't sunning, rather skittering between small palms and rested briefly under a banyan fig. Probably something common but I'm rarely in the southeast. Thanks for any help!
