Field Notes
Description:
I was looking up in the trees for a Robin that was singing when I spotted these lovely birds just sitting very still and quiet right above my head, blending in well with the bare branches so nobody would notice them. They are a winter bird here in England and are the smallest of the true Thrush family (turdidae). about the size of a small blackbird I would say. After looking in all the branches I noticed there were several of them in the same tree. A couple then flew down to gather food from in the grass.
Habitat:
Seen in Clifton park which is mostly playing fields.
