Field Notes

Description:

Bird of prey. Appears to have lost a complete claw, and the other deformed.

Habitat:

Perched on rocks in the centre of the river. I imagine it would be unable to perch on the branch of a tree. When I accidently disturbed it, it flew off into ground cover.

Notes:

I once had a brood of common myna here near the house and the young had their legs entangled with stuff either used in the nest construction or something brought to the nest, whichever it was one of the brood, possibly 2, did'nt survive. They managed to make it out of the nest still joined by some string, but their legs had withered. I managed to cut them loose.

I could also be an Eastern Buzzard. Both are found in Thailand.
