Field Notes

Description:

Looks a bit strange you may say .... that's because it has died in situ. I moved in close to photograph the jumping spider sitting in the crook of a leaf. I snapped away, being careful not to scare him away. I then realised it was dead. If you look at its abdomen, fungi has been fruiting out of it.

Habitat:

In crook of tree leaf. Cattana Wetlands

Something about it makes me think of the clown in Stephen King's 'It'... with that fungus growing out of its abdomen, it could star in its own horror film!
Hi Chief, do you mean the 'white circles with the brown spots inside'? They are just markings on its head. See my other spotting of Mopsus mormon http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/19367150 Cheers Andrea
