Field Notes

Description:

The upperside of wings are white with gray to black markings (more so with females). The underside has greenish veins. The wingspan is 1.25–1.75 inches (3.2–4.4 cm).

Habitat:

Spotted nectaring on flowers at the McAllen Nature Center.

Notes:

Common throughout North America.
