Description:

Cardinals are a very common bird throughout the Southeast. In many areas, including my yard, they are the most prevalent species.
Adult males are a bright crimson red, while females and juveniles are more of a drab red-tinged brown.
This female was landing on my feeder when I snapped a shot.
