Field Notes

Description:

Tiny orange insect with black and blue wings. Do not recall exact size, but definitely under 2/3 inch long.

Habitat:

Beltzville State Park. Open woodlands into meadow near large 7 mile long lake.

Notes:

Need more specific ID if possible.

When I find these lost spots that are more than 8 months old, I can't remember much. I must buy a Bug Journal for my adventures. Thanks again Eric.
Thanks Eric. I have never seen this particular ichneumon wasp before. Only one photo and it flew off. But it is a unique view. Not macro. (cropped)
Probably an ichneumon. Not the one I thought is was (Trogus pennator), given that yours is "tiny."
