Field Notes
Description:
This dragonfly has a wingspan of about 6 cm. From head to abdomen, it is approximately 4 cm long. Its wings were transparent and had a tiny black mark on the upper corner. It was mostly yellow on the abdomen, with black on the sides. The thorax was black and yellow. It has two large round, opaque eyes that have an interesting color. The legs are black and its mouth is yellow.
Habitat:
This dragonfly was living inside a condo in Singapore. At that time, it was quite sunny out there. It was perched on the tip of a large leaf and was occasionally landing on the tips of different leaves. I spotted it at 4:44 PM.
Notes:
The name "Blue Marsh Hawk" comes from the color of the male dragonfly, because the males are blue. The females are yellow colored.
