Field Notes

Description:

The sea holly or seaside eryngo. It grows on coastal dunes. Because of its extensive root system can block the movement of sand, stabilizing it, thus contributing to the development of colonization plant.[1]

Habitat:

The steppe zone of the Black Sea near Anapa (autumn)

Notes:
