Comb Jellyfish
Phylum Ctenophora
26.0734, -97.2086
Field Notes
Description:
I really don't know how else to describe it besides a ball of goop. And it's clear and squishy.
Habitat:
Found in marine waters worldwide. We seined up hundreds of these, but this one was the biggest and the only one you could see the antennae on.
Notes:
I was on a field trip sampling for fish. All the fish we caught were seined up, then we put them in buckets to look at them. The jellyfish was only out of the water for a few seconds for us to take pictures, then were returned to the water when we were done.
