Hi Gully.Moy, I have uploaded a closer closeup of the middle section. I hope that helps.
Hi and thanks, I can see a little clearer now. What I really meant however was a close up of a small section of the fungus, somewhere in the middle in order to get a more detailed view of the surface texture. At the moment my best guess is Datronia Mollis but I'm not completely convinced.
Hi Gully.Moy, thanks for your comments. I've uploaded cropped versions of the fungus. Also, it was growing on the top side of a log.
Perhaps you could crop the original version of your first image and re-upload it so we can see more detail? Also, was it growing on the top side or the bottom of the log? I love these white Crust Fungi,
