Field Notes

Notes:

This young spider had built its web across the front of our backyard shed. I haven't seen a stabilimentum (the white band of silk) like this before. The adults weave them in zig-zag crosses, but the juveniles come up with all kinds of wonderful patterns. (Here's another one http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/10334569 - very different)!
