Notes:

I never saw this wasp alive, only this dead specimen. It is large, about 50 % larger than a common paper wasp. It has a red and black head, with white eyes. This one didn't have its abdomen anymore, and also had two holes in its thorax.

Keith and Gerardo, thank you. Keith, I think you are right. It is a pity I didn't find a living specimen, but maybe in the future I will.
Very cool. Love the white eyes. I'd imagine the holes in the thorax are where the wings attached.
