Field Notes

Description:

small perennial, maybe a species of Gynura?

Habitat:

grassland, paramo, 3500m

Notes:

I spotted this growing among some huge clumps of grass on my way to the summit of Volcan Purace, in the national park of the same name. The photos turned out so nice and I liked them all, I couldn't decide which one to put first. The like the moving blurriness of the first photo. The flowers were in a protected spot just enough not move even though it was really windy. Perhaps the frontal views of the flower are better for ID though.
