Field Notes

Description:

Female (1st two images) and male (3rd image) Common Redpolls

Habitat:

On and under bird feeders in Glendalough State Park eating Niger Thistle and Black-oil Sunflower seed in an area surround by woods and less than 1/2 a mile of open water (creek)

Notes:

We have so many Common Redpolls this winter its amazing. Last year we had a dozen in our yard, this year its around 40 or 50 with an equal number at the feeders in the park which is less than 5 miles away, across a (now frozen) lake.
