Field Notes

Description:

Two butterflies mud puddling...one is pale yellow and larger; the other is brighter and smaller.

Habitat:

Garden of the Khajuraho temple complex.

Notes:

Is this a pair? The one at the back looks like Common Emigrant or Lemon Emigrant (Catopsilia sp.) and the one in front like Eurema sp...but both were so comfortable that I took them to be a pair...if not, I will split them into two spottings.

I think it is a male Oriental Mottled Emigrant (Catopsilia pyranthe pyranthe).
I think it is a Lemon Emigrant. I think the Common has the spot in the middle of it's hind wing.
You should split them. They are two different species.
