Field Notes

Description:

A tall tree that is built to sway with the wind so when a hurricane comes through the tree will not fall down as easily as other types of trees. The bark is a black color with tan flacks around the tree, but I think the tree just went through a forest fire. Fires are very health of the ecosystem because it renews the land and diminish the invasive species.

Habitat:

I found this tree in No Name Key, Florida. No Name Key is highly known for seeing Key deer, a small type of deer that can swim. I have seen it! It was really unexpected.
