Description:

Caterpillar with an odd protrusion on its back. Experts at BugGuide thought it had been parasitized.

Thanks maplemoth662. The folks at BugGuide told me this past week that the caterpillar's dark color is very odd and they believed it had been parasitized. The species is correct though.
