Can't help with ID, just wanted to say these are adorable! Nice find!
Thanks for checking for me Shanna. I couldn't find them either. Maybe Martin may know?
I did a search, the only thing I can find that looks close are Redheaded Pine Sawfly (Neodiprion lecontei) larvae. I hope it's not that, because they're from Canada and don't seem to present in Australia!
Some sort of sawfly, maybe?
