Field Notes

Description:

Small birds, males having black cap, yellow undersides. Olive green back and dark wings with white bars. Females are olive green head, back and sightly darker wings. Undersides a pale yellow.

Habitat:

Can be found on budding trees and foraging on dandelions in lawns as well as backyard feeders.
