Description:
This tree does not have flowers, but it does have fruit (jackfruit). The fruit is green or yellow, oval-shaped, and spiky. The leaves are 15 cm long, and 8 cm wide. The leaf shape is obovate, the margins are entire, the venation is netted pinnate, it is smooth and waxy, and it has a drip tip. Some jackfruit had fallen around the base of the tree. It had jackfruit growing from the base of the tree to high up on the tree.
Habitat:
This was found in a secondary rainforest by a path.
Notes:
It is the largest tree-borne fruit, reaching up to 36 kg. The tree can grow to 18 meters tall, and the fruit is ripe when it is yellow. The jackfruit is native to southern and southeastern Asia, believed to have originated in India.
