Field Notes

Description:

Large (65 to 70 cm in length) white and black bird, with a long curved black bill.

Habitat:

Seen in Abijjata-Shalla National Natural Reserve, a park of the Rift Valley lakes system. This park is on altitude of 1500m and 2000, mainly savanna and open acacia woodland; very rich in birdlife (over 300 species recorded) but not so much in other wildlife.
