Hanopol

Poikilospermum suaveolens (Blume) Merr. (family Urticaceae), commonly called Hanopol in Tagalog, is a stout and tall tropical woody climber. Its leaves are oblong-ovate, 15-25 cm long, 8-15 cm wide, tapering to a point at the apex, rounded or heart-shaped at the base. Flowers are sweet-scented. In Malaysia, young cooked leaves are eaten as vegetable, and in other parts of Southeast Asia, its parts are used for folkloric medicine. In the Philippines, it is found in forests at low and medium altitudes from northern Luzon to Mindanao.
