Field Notes

Description:

Two adult Bald Eagles. One of the pair flew over to the other after finishing his meal. Once the one flying in landed and joined the other, they started vocalizing to each other and gently touching heads/necks. In my mind, it may have been a greeting of sorts, even though they were in eye-shot of each other previously.

Habitat:

On a snow-packed farm field at sunset

Notes:

I grabbed my video camera but about that time they stopped vocalizing and just sat side-by-side looking around and up into the sky prior to eventually flying away.
