Field Notes

Description:

There were no flowers visible. The fruit were green. The fruits were circular and 2 centimeters in length and width. The leaf shape was cordate, and the leaf margins were entire. The lengths and widths of some of the bigger leaves on the tree were 23 centimeters and 10 centimeters. The leaf venation was netted pinnate and the leaf arrangement was alternate. The leaf texture was bumpy while the bark texture was rough. The root system was buttress. The leaves had no drip tips. Later when I saw the fruit it was split open with a yellow flower growing in it.

Habitat:

The fig tree was growing in a sunny and open part of the rainforest. The plant was next to a spider web. The tree was starting to get a bit dry from the sun.
