Description:

There are so many very similar looking species of cladonia lichens, I give up trying to ID the correct one!

Habitat:

Growing on moss and lichen covered soil

Notes:

Spotted along the Iron Hill Trail of red Top Mountain State Park

Lichen Id is tough! Very interesting though. I read that Deer and turkey eat Lichen , Let me find the link on how wild life use lichen.
