Field Notes

Description:

This fungi is bright orange-red in color and are cupped shaped. It is about 3 cm in diameter. The middle is red and as it gets near the rim, it becomes orange. The fungi is very florescent and is very eye-catching. There are no fungi nearby and this happens to be growing by its self.

Habitat:

I found this fungi in a rain forest at around 2:36 pm. It was located on a branch of a fig tree. A lot of sunlight could reach the fungi and the air was pretty cool, but a bit damp.

Notes:

The fungi is shaped like a cup and there are some red ants crawling near it.
