Field Notes

Description:

Coleoptera; Chrysomelidae; Unidentified Galerucinae. "The Galerucinae are a large subfamily of the leaf beetles (Chrysomelidae), containing about 15,000 species in more than 1000 genera, of which about 500 genera and about 8000 species make up the flea beetle tribe Alticini." Wikipedia.

Habitat:

Spotted on a Hyacinth Bean Plant (Lablab purpureus) locally called Bataw, at the back of our house.

Notes:

I took this picture some time ago and jotted down that this beetle might be Taumacera philippina, but I did not make a note of the source of that information. Careless of me.
