Field Notes

Description:

This plant was 1 foot high at the highest point, and the leaves were anywhere from 6 inches to 11 inches. They were tightly packed together, and had a short root system. Some leaves were a yellowish green, while others were just plain green. This plant had no flowers or fruit. It had linear shaped leaves, and had parallel venation. This plant seems to be doing well with no dead or dying leaves.

Habitat:

This plant was found by a concrete path in a secondary-rainforest in Singapore. There were not many plants surrounding it in this full shade area.
