Field Notes

Description:

This poorly photographed beetle was very attractive with it's aposematic colouring. The head, eyes, antennae, thorax and most of the elytra were a glossy black. A broad bright red band ran across both elytra. The distal parts of the femora were noticeably thick; the first two pairs being a bright red. The last pair were black.

Habitat:

Spotted actively "searching" on an acacia wattle bush in a park.

Notes:

Not able to get better shots. <br>
My thanks to my husband Mark for the ID. Br>
Family: Cerambycidae
