Field Notes

Description:

Just emerged brackets. Yellow top, white rim. White pores underneath. Some red liquid oozing out of the top.

Habitat:

Found growing out of an oak stump.

Notes:

I'm going to post this same specimen as it grows.

Tom I'm not 100 percent on Inonotus dryadeus but I'm certainly leaning that way. Your spotting seems very fresh and it hasn't aged to the degree of other pics that are on the internet. To me it seems to have Too many characteristics that are like Inonotus dryadeus.
