Description:

Large wading bird on thin legs. Body is covered in white feathers. Neck is balck.

Habitat:

Foraging with other birds in a flooded paddy field off the highway.

Notes:

IUCN status: Near threatened.
The ancient Egyptians venerated the Ibis.
