Field Notes

Description:

This great blue heron baby sat in his nest and cried and cried for his mom to feed him. She ignored him for a long time, just standing nearby. But he persisted and she finally flew off, hopefully to get some food for him.

Habitat:

Wakodahatchee Wetlands Park, Delray Beach, FL. The park is fifty acres of unused utilities land that have been transformed into a wetlands ecosystem.
