Description:

These moth is about 4 cm long and was found in a gas station close to the rainforest at Baeza and Cosanga.

Habitat:

Andean Rainforest in the slopes to the Amazon

Next time I'll collect the specimen ... it is hard to identifly it. Thanks bayucca and AgnesAdiqueTalavera
Definitely an Amastus sp., but not Amastus coccinator, this one should have a darker red part between the orange stripes. It might be Amastus aloniae: http://www.boldsystems.org/index.php/Taxbrowser_Taxonpage?taxid=455524 But it is not possible to ID this one without the native specimen: http://www.boldsystems.org/index.php/Taxbrowser_Taxonpage?taxid=97128 There were quite a few newly detected species from Ecuador.
