Description:

Melospiza melodia, the Song Sparrow is known for its singsongy tone reminiscent of spring, is a sparrow quite common to Eastern North America, even though this is the first time I've seen it. I like the gaze of this guy in the first photo, it reminds me of a raptor of some sort. The bird seemed to be quite apprehensive of any slight movement, and tended to stay low to the ground.

Habitat:

Found in bushes, semi-wetlands, and open areas throughout most of North America. I found this one on the grass near the bird feeder.

Notes:

Lifer! :-D
