Field Notes

Description:

Spotted this master while camping on a tropical mountain side in Pahang, Malaysia. The area has more than 40 waterfalls and the pretty much untouched. It was perched on a low shrub by the mountain stream close to a twin waterfall. Looks more of a juvenile because of the bright green colour.

This is just lovely! However, I am certain that this is not Tenodera aridifolia sinensis (Chinese Mantid). The body shape and coloration are quite different. Info on Tenodera aridifolia sinensis (yes it's a North American site but the species info is good): http://bugguide.net/node/view/10098 I would love to find out what species this is. I can't find a match at this time.
What a great photo. I love your photography. Look forward to seeing more.
Nice shot! Looks like it's waving at you...
