Description:

It has a dark brown back with black spottings, contrasting with a bright orange belly.
Females are bigger than the males.

Habitat:

Endemic to the Iberian Peninsula.
It can be found in tempered forests, riverbanks, marshes, lakes and rural farms and gardens.
