Description:

Tall tree with direct sunlight. Short green leaves with white puffy flowers that sort of look like cotton.

Habitat:

Tecolote canyon. Shrubs and medium sized trees. East west canyon. Hilly area. Moderate climate.

How tall is a "tall" tree? These flowers (and your description) say buckwheat, but those are more shrub than tree, and I've never seen one taller than me. Makes me second guess my ID!
