Field Notes
Description:
A brown geometrid moth with a wing span of about 15mm. Patterns on wings were wavy and dark brown. Each fore wing had a dark spot near the costal margin.
Hind wings had a reddish tinge which is clearly evident when the moth is flying. Gives it the name "rubraria"
Antennae -feathery
Habitat:
Caterpillars eat a variety of herbaceous plants including the buckhorn
plantain (Plantago lanceolata) which is in abundance in lawns and grasslands.

This moth obligingly climbed on to a white sheet of paper, despite missing part of a leg.
