Description:

There are so many very similar looking species of cladonia lichens, I give up trying to ID the correct one!

Habitat:

Growing amid other cladonia species and mosses on soil at top of clay bank.

Notes:

Spotted along the Iron Hill Trail of red Top Mountain State Park
