Field Notes

Description:

A small orange wasp about 8mm long with prominent dark eyes. Ovipositor was dark and short. Each black antenna had a white banding.
Wings clear, each with a small black patch on the costa.

Habitat:

Flew into the house on a very warm night

Notes:

My thanks to John La Salle for his assistance with identification of the family. I will need to research further for specifics.

Thank you John La Salle for looking at this spotting and pointing me in the right direction. I could not see any details in the wing and I notice that there are other features that distinguish the two families. Have to learn more about these interesting wasps.
