Katydid
Tettigoniidae
1.4255, 103.774
Field Notes
Description:
This was about 6 cm long. They are sometimes called bush crickets, and can be distinguished from grasshoppers by their antennae, which are sometimes larger than themselves. At their front they have a special structure that can be rubbed together to make sounds, which are probably used to attract mates. Their hind legs are very big so that they can jump further.
