Description:

Blue bill, 14-18 inches. white wing stripe. male with purple glass on head. female with white at base of bill. Vermont's ponds are usually iced over this time of the year. Still warm and no ice making it interesting to see ducks this year.

Habitat:

ponds, lakes, marshes, sheltered saltwater in winter.

Notes:

My first spotting on this duck
