Description:

This is a tiny hover fly - less than 1/4" - Adults feed on nectar and pollen. The larvae feed on garden pests, including aphids & small caterpillars and are considered to be beneficial predators.

Habitat:

Native to North America - Commonly found visiting flowers from April to November.
