Thanks ForestDragon. I'm aware that it's a butterfly, but growing up, I've always heard/used the common name cabbage moth. I didn't know the scientific name though so thanks for the identification on that! I'm uploading these to identify for a school project and have no idea about some of the other spottings I've posted so if have any ideas about the I.D.'s on those too, let me know.
Welcome to Project Noah! This beauty is actually a species of Butterfly. Its is from Genus Pieris. One of the most common of the Whites is the Cabbage White, Pieris rapae: http://bugguide.net/node/view/3259 They are not native to North America but have established themselves very well here. I believe this is the ID of your Butterfly.
