Description:

There were many of these webs spotted on numerous acacia trees in this wadi. About 6 - 7 cm long on the end of branches. Their whiteness really stood out and you could see them from a distance away. If you look closely at Pic 4, you can see a web at the top of the acacia tree.

Habitat:

coastal desert wadi

Notes:

Pics 2 and 3 are of a different web than Pic 1. Are they both made by the same spider species?

Thanks, Mark Ridgway! I had a look at a list of spider for Egypt and only found Cyrtophora citricola. Wish I could have seen the spiders more clearly, but perhaps that is right?
Thanks, AntónioGinjaGinja! Always an honor to be nominated. :-)
Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
