All brown. The underside and chest has white on it. Where the beak meets the face it has a black strip before turning white with another black stripe a bit before the end which is more of a tan color. Thick beak with a downward curve at the end.

Habitat:

Swampy pond at the end of a canal that dries up at the end of spring (this year it was earlier). The area is filled with plenty of fish, frogs, and insects.

Notes:

They were alone fishing in the swampy pond. Came up with a few fish and spent quite a bit in the area before the Great Blue Heron showed up.
