Field Notes

Description:

The darter is similar to a cormorant with a longer neck. This one has a whiter face then the images in my book. I think it is a male. He caught a fish, tossed it up in the air and swallowed it. What a good fisherman.

Habitat:

Near waterways. Worldwide distribution.

Notes:

Also called the snakebird.
