Field Notes

Description:

Maybe 1/2 in long. Couldn't tell if it was hurt, seemed slow and maybe limping. unlike the normal curve of beetle exo's this one almost seemed to have straight edges like someone drew it with a ruler. Perhaps some blueish tint up towards the head

Habitat:

back porch, west central ga

Definitely a Buprestidae and looks for me like a Dicerca sp., extremely difficult for getting the correct genus and species anyway. This one would need a real expert to be on a safe base. Take mine as a hint for further searches.
